Hawaiian Telcom Communications, Inc. Files for Chapter 11

Honolulu based, Hawaiian Telcom Communications, Inc., filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection today at the United States Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, DE.  The debtor's petition lists $1.35 billion in assets and $1.27 billion in debts.

According to court documents, the debtor is the leading provider of telecommunications services in Hawaii.

US Bank National Association (as trustee) and Local Insight Media are listed as the largest unsecured creditors.
