Tarpon Industries, Inc. and Eugene Welding Co. filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy yesterday at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Tarpon Industries, based in Marysville MI, is a holding company that owns 100% of the stock of Eugene Welding Co which is a manufacturer and distributor of steel storage rack systems.
Tarpon Industries' petition lists almost $4 million in assets and over $16 million in liabilities. The largest unsecured creditor is listed as New Generation Steel with a trade claim of $146K. On Eugene Welding's petition, both assets and liabilities are listed as between $10-$50 million.

UPDATE: On 12/8- the United States Bankruptcy Court converted the case to chapter 7.
Empire Land, LLC and several related entities filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. The petition for Empire Land, LLC., of Ontario California, lists between $100-$500 million in assets and liabilities. The cases were filed on April 25th.

SunCrest, L.L.C. filed for Chapter 11 on April 11th at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Utah. The debtor is represented by Vinson & Elkins, LLP. SunCrest, founded in 1997, is the developer of a master planned community in Draper, Utah.
